"Ducati concludes Mugello test"

While Sete Gibernau concluded the test after two days, Ducati test rider Vittoriano Guareschi and Niccolo Canepa continued in Mugello for a third and final day.

The third and final day of evidence before a late summer vacation to test pilots Ducati Vittoriano Guareschi and Niccolo Canepa concluded at Mugello on Thursday.

Although Guareschi continued working on the development of the next year GP9, canapes completed two long runs in the hot conditions and recorded a best time of 1min 51.2secs.

"We are satisfied with the work that we do these days," said Filippo Preziosi. "The development of the product and thus arrive GP9 some positive feedback from the bike despite the heat and difficult conditions. A big thanks goes to the technicians of Ducati for the great job they have done in recent months.

"A special thanks also to boys Team Official MotoGP sacrificing three days of vacation in order that we can run the tests not only with Vitto, but Niccolo and Sete too."

Gibernau, on proof of action for the third time after retiring from MotoGP almost two years ago, finished the tests after two days.

The former world championship finalist in motion has overlapped constantly around the mark of 1min 50.5secs with tyres and set a career best time of 1min 48.9secs with qualifying tyres, but its future remains unclear intentions with Ducati accuse Marco Melandri to keep its seat for Brno race.

The fastest race lap during June's Italian Grand Prix was a Ducati 1min 50.003secs the reigning world champion, Casey Stoner. Pole position is a 1min 48130 second career eventual winner Valentino Rossi.

Canepa will take part in Brno after the race test with the Bridgestone team trials, but still do not know if Gibernau also will be present for a test that will allow accurate comparisons with the lap times set in the Czech Republic Grand Prix.
