Dates set for 2009 MotoGP world championship round at Mazda Laguna Seca track Fifth annual Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix 3-5 July, 2009
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca officials announced today July 3-5, 2009 are the dates for the fifth annual Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, the MotoGP World Championship. The new race date will give an additional incentive for jockeys americas Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards, who already have the best in the world in the most patriotic weekend of the year.
"What better weekend for Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix that the Fourth of July," said Gill Campbell, CEO / general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. "We are planning special events to celebrate fan and you can bet the American riders will have special leathers, helmets and bicycle graphics commemorate Independence Day."
The 2009 race marks the fifth consecutive visit to the MotoGP teams and riders of the historic
Monterey circuit and the first time the event has been mounted on the July 4 weekend. The date for the event is tentative, subject to the release of FIM full schedule in September.
Tickets for the event go on sale next October. Reserved camping and hospitality tickets go on sale on October 1, while the remaining tickets - general admission, rostrum, paddock, parade lap and parking - go on sale on October 6. Renewal forms will be sent to existing customers on August 21.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca's 2008 world-class racing schedule includes the 35th Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races presented by Toyota August 15-17, the AMA Superbike Crown Finale September 27-28 and the Monterey Sports Car Championships with the American Le Mans Series October 17-19.
