Yamaha have obtained a podium in every race this season, Valentino Rossi wants to make sure they complete the full set in Sepang and Valencia.
Valentino Rossi has set himself the target of at least one result on the podium this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix for Yamaha to maintain the fine run of podium finishes.
So far this season, Yamaha have had at least one of their runners standing on each of podiums this year, with the management of Rossi in 14 of the 16 races, while Jorge Lorenzo and Colin Edwards until the two missing in Italian with the full set.
It is one of the few landmarks that Rossi is willing to work for in the penultimate event of the season having reached a period of ten podium finishes all-time record held by fellow legend Giacomo Agostini.
In addition, to Rossi needs just 35 more points to overcome Casey Stoner and the entire record of scoring the most amount of points over a season.
Given that it has finished inside the top two positions during the last seven races in Sepang and is a popular venue for testing equipment, Rossi is confident of taking another step to boost its iconic status.
"I'm looking forward to going to Malaysia because we made a bit of testing there with Bridgestone so we have a lot of data - something we have not had much of this season. I was very strong there in the winter and I hope that what same again this time, especially since we know much more about the tires now.
"We have two races left and I would try to win them both, and I also want to maintain the excellent record Yamaha podium this season.
"I love Malaysia and I have had some great races there in the past, more generally, our bike fits very well with any luck so we can expect a fun weekend. That said, we know that Casey will be strong again, and others as it will undoubtedly be a good fight! "
